The Patriot's Festival
We live in an era when “Patriotism” and a sense of “National Pride” seem
dormant. The American public has become disillusioned by a national government
that is deeply partisan, riddled with scandal and desperate for real leadership.
We are inundated with negative news that’s manipulated by a media more
interested in creating the news than reporting it.
As a nation we are constantly divided by special interest groups, by politics,
by race, by religion and by socio-economics. We have forgotten that the one
thing that binds us – our national unity as Americans – will always be our
greatest strength. It seems each generation takes more for granted than the last
and that the spirit that built this great country is at risk of being lost.
The true purpose of remembrances such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July and
Veterans Day must be revered as critical fixtures of our culture, our history
and our future.
But there’s hope – there’s always hope….after all this is America!
The Mooresville Patriots Festival started as an idea amongst a small group of
citizens – a small group that asked, “What will it take to show our community,
our country and beyond that Patriotism really is alive and well in America?”
We started asking others if they agreed. First, within our community and
eventually across the country. The overwhelming support, enthusiasm and passion
for this event have been more than we ever imagined.
